When it comes to wigs they are unrecognisable from the items that would have been on sale years ago. They would have been clearly fake hair and in some cases not very well put together so they would be something that had to be worn rather than an item that it was a pleasure to wear. Nowadays this is far from the truth and the wigs that are on sale are well made and of a very high standard.
There are wigs available in all styles and hair types. There are full head wigs and partial wigs that can be attached to the real hair. If you have short hair there is no reason why a piece of hair should not be added to make it look as if you have really long hair. These can either be woven into your own hair if it is long enough, but in cases where the hair is really short it can be added to the bottom.
Often this will be done by tying the wig in a knot or making it look like a bun. The attachments will be underneath this and so will not be seen. It will simply look as if the hair has been styled into a knot or a bun. In cases such as this the piece is normally referred to as an extension but it still serves the same purpose as a wig.
A great reason for wearing a wig is to allow a variety of styles. Some are intricate and can take a long time to do, so if you enjoy wearing your hair in braids or want to have thick curls but so not have the time or ability to create them yourself then it will be much easier to get a wig.
In some cases wigs will be very expensive but this does not have to be the case. Short and basically styles wigs can cost less than $40 each, and many can be bought in packs with a number of wigs or extensions exactly the same and these can range from $100 to $300. It is sensible to have a number of wigs as they do not to be washed and due to the fact that it is not possible to dry them with a hair dryer it could take more than a day to dry. For this reason alone it helps to have a back up wig.
For the modern women there is the chance to have a wig for every occasion and the style can be changed in the same way and as often as an outfit is changed.
